Our shared dream led us to launch Riding The Wind, a motorcycle tour company that focuses on personal care, well-planned itineraries, and creating unforgettable travel experiences.
It all started with the urge to escape.
After university, I found myself stuck behind a desk in London, saving for a move to New Zealand. But a short trip to Turkey changed everything. Hostels, strangers turned friends, the thrill of new places — I was hooked. What was meant to be a quick adventure turned into over a year of backpacking across Asia, Europe, and Latin America. That’s when I first got on a bike — an automatic scooter at first, then eventually a Royal Enfield Classic, and later a Himalayan — and something clicked. It wasn’t just travel anymore. It was freedom.
Back in London, I returned to corporate life for a while — practical, but unfulfilling. Around that time, I crossed paths with Shane.
Shane’s journey couldn’t have been more different. He grew up riding Royal Enfields in India and has spent over two decades in the corporate world since moving to the UK in 2004. A lifelong rider with a passion for travel, he’d taken part in several organised motorcycle tours — but often found them overcrowded and poorly managed. Too many people. Too little care. He wanted something more thoughtful, more human. During our time working together, we often talked about travel — and one day, the conversation turned to bikes. That’s when the idea for Riding The Wind was born.
We set our sights on launching in 2020. I was planning a move to Australia, and the timing felt right. But then, the world shut down. COVID put everything on hold — and the dream nearly slipped away.
Years later, we reconnected. The vision was still there — maybe even stronger than before. We mapped out new routes, built a brand from scratch, and created the kind of experience we both wished existed: small group rides, personal attention, and a genuine connection to the places we explore.
